This certification is intended for companies and institutions that deploy AI systems in their internal operations, services, or products. It supports responsible and compliant use of AI across various roles in the value chain — from development and integration to application and governance.

How to Qualify

To qualify for the EU-AIA CPC certification, providers must demonstrate compliance with essential legal, technical, and ethical standards:

Legal & Ethical Compliance
Adhere to the EU AI Act, GDPR, and relevant ethical guidelines.

Technical Robustness & Safety
Ensure systems are secure, reliable, and include fallback mechanisms to prevent unintended harm.

Transparency & Explainability
Provide clear documentation and interfaces that make system decisions understandable to users and stakeholders.

Data Governance
Implement procedures for secure, lawful, and ethical data usage, including data quality, access control, and privacy-by-design.

Detecting and Mitigating Bias
Bias & Fairness
Actively detect and mitigate discrimination or bias in models, data, and outputs.

Certification Process

1. Self-Assessment

The organization conducts an internal risk assessment and documents compliance with applicable legislation.

2. External evaluation

An independent auditor evaluates the system’s development practices and alignment with CPC criteria under the EU AI Act.

3. Certification

Upon successful assessment, the provider receives the EU-AIA CPC certificate.

4.Periodic review

Certification is reviewed every three years, or sooner if substantial changes are made to the development process or AI system.
