CAITEC is designed for educators, trainers, and communicators who play a key role in helping others understand and engage with AI responsibly. In the context of evolving legislation — such as the EU AI Act — building AI literacy is not just valuable, but essential. This certification recognizes those who translate complex AI topics into accessible, ethical, and legally grounded knowledge for diverse audiences.

How to Qualify

To qualify for CAITEC, candidates must demonstrate both content expertise and didactic ability to promote responsible AI understanding in line with legal and ethical standards

Legal & Ethical Foundations
Understand and convey the core principles of the EU AI Act, GDPR, and other applicable frameworks — highlighting their relevance in daily practice and public communication.

Responsible AI Communication
Translate complex technical concepts into clear, balanced, and accessible information — ensuring audiences are neither misled nor overwhelmed.

Bias, Inclusion & Impact Awareness
Recognize and address the societal implications of AI, including risks of discrimination, exclusion, and misinformation — especially in educational or public-facing contexts.

Designing for Understanding
Create learning experiences, training modules, or public content that foster critical thinking and meaningful engagement with AI.

Building Societal Readiness
Equip individuals and groups with the knowledge they need to participate confidently and responsibly in an AI-driven society — as citizens, workers, or decision-makers.

Certification Process

1. Training

The candidate completes a course focused on responsible AI education, legislation (such as the EU AI Act), and ethical public communication.

2. Examination

The candidate passes an evaluation that may include a test, teaching demonstration, or portfolio showing their ability to convey responsible AI principles to non-expert audiences.

3. Certification

Upon successful completion, the CAITEC certificate is awarded, recognizing the candidate as a trusted enabler of legally informed AI literacy.

4. Stay Certified

Certification is valid for 3 years. Renewal can be achieved through continued practice, peer-reviewed activities, or reassessment.
